The organisers wished to hold this event in person and for the event to include a farm walk. Many efforts were made with access to a suitable farm being the main obstacle, as well as the strong desire for the event to reach a wide audience which the webinar did achieve. 

This session had many aims, which included:

• Introducing participants to innovative contract designs. In general, the Irish public is familiar with action-based and results-based contracts.
• This event expanded participants’ knowledge of the other arrangements that are possible. Many participants were not previously aware of the various options available. 
• Discussing case studies of these contracts in practice.
• Showing how various contracts may benefit different agri-environmental-climate public goods. This raised many questions amongst participants. One national government agengy has since contacted the presenters to express an interest in learning more about how collective contracts can help to protect water quality. This has resulted in an additional training/advisory session being organised. 
• Highlighting the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the case studies and the contracts they contain.
•  Hearing feedback from project managers. Some case study project managers attended the event and they provided insight into the workings of their agri-environmental schemes including an honest assessment of the strengths and weaknesses.
